Just got my acceptance into Penn State College of Engineering!!!
Plan on majoring in computer science
Applied early Nov., received the “coming days status” yesterday around 7, got the acceptance today around the same time.
ACT: 29
GPA: 3.5
Rank: school doesn’t rank
Other Stats: My teacher fell in love with my essay said it was very well written and insightful, 4 APs, 6 honors not including senior year
Rec: average
Hook: I’m African (not sure if that mattered) born and raised, I’ve been residing in the U.S. for 9 years now

I promised my D that I would not check her status anymore because she wants to be the one to see first. I made her promise she wouldn’t check without me present. I’m going to video her checking and either saving the video for all time or immediately deleting it based on the decision!
Comment change…when I posted my acceptance (#818)…I was copying from the template on the first page. I did NOT get 5’s on every AP. In fact, I never took an AP course. But I have taken about 10 honors classes.
ALSO, just a reminder…when PSU looks at rigor of courses…the number of Honors, AP, and IB classes all look the same. So for instance…2 honors classes means the same thing as 2 AP or IB classes. They hold the same weight to PSU admissions in terms of rigorous courses. Rigor of your classes isn’t a HUGE portion of the decision like GPA and standardized test scores are, but they are considered. A PSU rep for my school told me this info.

My daughter was ACCEPTED! College of Engineering and majoring in computer science. I think she had given up hope so she was pleasantly surprised tonight!

I have a question for those who’ve gotten decisions. Did ANYBODY’S picture change to an alternate campus before they got their decision? Our pic is still UP, but I know that doesn’t seem to matter this year. Just wondering if anyone got the picture change prior to a decision?

We got the coming days and the answer was about 20 hrs later - don’t know what the weekend brings? It seems they are changing the status and answering every 24 hrs.

My picture stayed UP but got denied earlier tonight. However I did not apply to an alternate campus, just summer start. I’m not sure the picture theory is true this year. Sorry, and good luck everyone!
