PSU vs. WISCONSIN

I was accepted to both Penn State's and Wisconsin's schools of communications.
All around, Wisconsin is a better ranked school but i have no idea how the comm schools compare.
I liked Penn State more when i went to visit but im concerned that Wisconsin is too good of an education to pass up. Im looking for any knowledge about how the schools compare. PLEASE HELP!

bump please

If you liked Penn State more I would go there, I don’t know how comm. is here, but if you like it more I doubt you’ll be lacking in opportunities.

Communications at Wisconsin is definitely better.

I was also accepted to both schools (not for Communications), and after I visited Penn State I immediately rescinded my admission at Wisconsin. It is much farther away from where I live and I just loved Penn State way too much. In terms of academics, IDK much about their schools of Communications, but I think the difference is generally negligible.

I really think you should go to whichever school you like better…both have great academics and social scenes so you aren’t really passing anything up by choosing PSU over Wisc.

I dont kno how PUS ranks with their COmm Dept but from the Comm class I have now it seems pretty top notch. Several graduates are top producers for several series.

One of the producers for Law+Order (The orginal one) is a PSU Comm grad.

Yeah that will be a tough choice to choose between the two.
Few reasons:
Wisconsin offer the lakes
Pennsylvania offers the mountains
Wisconsin and Pennsylvania both have great social scences
Wisconsin and Pennsylvania both are great in academics
Wisconsin and Pennsylvania both are in Big Ten
Though Wisconsin may offer a city with more to do, and a little more prestige
Pennsylvania may offer a larger campus and student body

^^

Plus…

Wisconsin is midwest… PSU is more of an East Coast culture…pick your flavor (I’d take midwest, even though I’m from the East Coast—I’ve lived in both regions)

Difference in campus size/student body size is negligible

Neither Wisconsin nor PSU has much to offer when it comes to diversity (unfortunately)

I went to grad school in Ann Arbor, which i would pick over both Madison and State College. That said, Wisconsin v. PSU is a tough decision. Perhaps “flavor” will be the deciding factor
