Psych 1 or Psych 2?

Hello all,

I'm an EECS major, so taking Psych is not a requirement or anything like that. I'm taking it simply for fun. That being said, I know that Psych 1 is the course for psych majors. However...I was being silly during Telebears and signed up for Psych 1 (not knowing that there was a Psych 2). By the time I wanted to switch to Psych 2, there was a large waiting list. However, I have since gotten into the Psych 2 class.

Here is my dilemma: I want to learn psych, but the Pysch 2 class is taught by a Zachary Rosner, a graduate student. Switching to Psych 2 with Mendoza (a full professor) does not work with my schedule. I hear from friends that graduate students typically grade harder and don't teach you as much. On the other hand, I could take Psych 1 with Kihlstrom, who would cover more material (with the addition of more work). I want to get an A in psych without too much work (after all, I have my difficult engineering classes to deal with), while getting a great overview of psych.

Should I stay with Rosner even though he's a grad student or should I go to Kihlstrom, a full professor who may know more about psychology? Please help me, especially if you know about Rosner or Kihlstrom. Thank you.

Take Psych 1 P/NP. That’s what I would do.

Ahahahaha…Zach Rosner is hysterical. He’s a huge bro, but don’t let that fool you, he knows his stuff. I had him as my GSI for Psych120, he did a good job.

That said, Kihlstrom is amazing. I took his class on Consciousness and learned a ton. He knows the field inside and out because he’s head of the Cognitive Science program, and he’s an easy grader too. My opinion: take it with Kihlstrom, you’ll learn a ton and it won’t put much stress on your courseload.

Thanks guys, I think I’ll stay with Kihlstrom :D
