anyone take this?
the prof teaching it in the winter is nandy, mixed reviews on bruinwalk.
ive never taken stats, so not sure if ill have a tough time.

I’m taking it now. The topic is boring, he has a strong accent, and gives 6 pop quizzes throughout the quarter (2 lowest scores dropped). First midterm was ridiculously easy, 2nd I don’t expect to be much harder. Because of the pop quizzes, you have to go to lecture, overall, it’s not too bad.

is it a lot of self study? ive heard that if youve taken stats in highschool or whatnot, then its pretty easy, but if not (mycase) its more or less selfstudy.

Yeah, I’d say that’s a fair statement. The book probably helps, but I have yet to crack it open.

AVOID HIM if you can. Nandy really is that bad of a teacher, nothing against his accent or anything, he’s just utterly ineffective.

If you are a freshman and are looking to get your Psych requirements done quickly, remember that 100B is REALLY not suggested for your freshman year. If a good professor pops up for 100A during spring quarter, jump on that, take 100B early in sophomore year, and you’ll be coasting from there.

bad lecturer, but fairly easy exams. get tutoring if you can to make up for lectures.

im a sophmore, psychobio major.
do you still recommend waiting till spring, then psych 100b fall junior year?

i have nandy now. his lectures are sorta useless but you still have to go cuz there are pop quizzes which are really easy (even if you don’t know anything LOL). his tests are very straightforward, high school style. take him and avoid mccauliffe.

gmargos, in that case, just take it now and get it over with. His exams are not difficult, he just doesn’t know how to teach.
