Carnegie Mellon University
University of Michigan-Ann Arbor

Syracuse University

Also look at NYU, Rutgers (New Brunswick) and Ithaca.

Do not know what kind of student she is. Check out Elon University I think you will be surprised. They have an incredible Musical Theater Departmnet.

At none of the schools above can one double major in MT and something else. A Musical Theatre degree is almost always a B.Mus. (pre-professional) degree that will require 80-100 or more of your 120 academic credit hours in college. If she wants to major in MT, she needs to commit her life to the theatre and discontinue other plans. If she can’t bring herself to do that, then she’d be better off being in a B.A. (non-audition liberal arts) theatre program at a college that does occasional musicals.
