Psychology Major with HR interest

I'll try to make this long story short...or maybe it'll be long, but here goes:
I am currently in my 5th year at a university. I started on a pre-pharm path but that was basically me taking like 3 years of gen eds and failing chemistry enough times for me to realize medicine was not for me. Then, in year 4, i decide i want to make a change to business, HR. at this point my gpa has really fallen, and it's not getting any better, smh. Well, i fail Econ and Acct twice. I could keep trying, but at this point it's too late. after a certain amount of hours you can no longer declare BA as a major. So now I'm stuck majoring in psychology by default with a bad gpa (bad decisions, lost drive, stopped trying :/ ). I really do have an interest in HR. i like psychology, but where is the money to be made in this career? I don't want a future of working a regular job i could have gotten w/o a college degree.

i plan on trying to get into any school's grad HR program that'll take me. First I have to take a few general business classes (kind of like a business minor, but take the classes after graduation because Ive been in college way too long and don't need to add another semester)

My question is how do i best go about pursuing this? My gpa is too low to qualify for any internships, and with HR I know experience is very necessary. Because of this i'm hoping I can redeem myself in graduate school. I feel like a total failure and i've just squandered my time in college with nothing to show for it. Now this late in the game i'm trying to fix it. ANY advice is welcomed.

Also, any suggestions for other careers? I had some interest in social work, but I can't get past how low the salaries are. basically, I don't come from much so I really want my children to not struggle like I did, so salaries that are at the very least 50k + are ideal for me and the life I want to live later on once I start a family etc.

Basically, i currently have no idea on what i'm going to do with my life and i'll graduate fall '14 so i need to figure thisout quickly.

Thanks :)

I am in the HR field. I started with a BA in Psychology and then went on to get MBA in Human Resource Management and I am currently at director level. You can apply for HR assistant and HR coordinator positions out of college, but that will not get you $50K plus a year. Very few entry level HR jobs will pay that much, you have to get experience and start somewhere. I will say the career path is great and once you get in at the entry level there are several areas you can branch out to: benefits admin, HR generalists, etc. I moved up very quickly and finding an HR job is not hard once you have the experience.
