Psychology Minor good enough to get into psych grad program

I am considering adding on a Psychology minor to my current Public Health major. Because I am 85% sure that I want to be either a psychologist or a psychiatrist. I know that with a B.S in Public Health, I can go to medical school and go into Psychiatry. However, 10+ years (I hear...) of school and the 4+ years of a residency program is a lot. I'm willing to go through it but I want to know my options before I really go down that route of figuring out what I want to do with my life.

SO...clinical psychology is on the table and I want to know if a psych minor will help me get into a psych grad program. I, obviously, know that there are other courses that I have to take but I think some of the courses for Public Health may overlap (like STATS, ENGL, etc...).

Also, if a psych minor isn't good enough, tell me what other things I should consider in order to get into a psych program, like classes to take things like that. I can't change my major because it's allowing me to receive an additional amount of money and I actually like Public Health (I may want to be a pediatrician...something)

HELP?

I would look at a couple of sample programs that interest you and see what pre-requisites are. I don’t think grad programs care what you officially call it - minor, cognate, etc - it only matters what classes you take. If you take these classes, then I don’t think it matters if it fills out a complete minor. It may matter more that you take specific classes.

Also, take advantage of career office or whoever helps with grad school stuff…maybe someone at cross campus advisement.
