Psychology/Neuroscience careers?

My D is most likely going to end up majoring in psychology or neuroscience and she wants to know about the type of career she'd be able to have. She would really like to become a science journalist (or work for the CIA) but doesn't really know how often those jobs come around. What other opportunities would be available? As an English major/current book editor I don't really have much information but a good friend recommended this site.

If she does go with a science major but no med school, is she stuck in lab work or as a psychologist in a firm?

She can work as a science journalist, but the bachelor’s degree will not be enough, she would have to do a master’s at least and from what my psyc prof told us if you want to land any job with a psyc major it’ll be significantly much easier with a master’s. As for working for the CIA, i imagine she wants to work their as a science researcher? If so then I imagine they’ll be even more strict than working in clinical or hospitals so perhaps doing a phd would help her.
