I am looking at UTD along with many others schools for the fall, but I am just not sure about there Psych program. I am transferring from community college in Dallas. I want to do clinical psych and see people one on one. I'm also looking at Southwestern, UTA but too far for driving back and forth. This is all..

My hunch is that you’ll receive a quality education in psych. Unfortunately, I am not sure how strong our programs are relative to other schools (based on reputation). Most universities tout their business, hard science, engineering and liberal arts achievements. It never seems clear who is “good” at producing top psychology grads who isn’t.

I am now looking at A&M Commerce and can’t believe it is so tough to see all rankings per major for all schools. The only thing I found was the top 30 and none of my schools are on that list. Also commerce is 1/2 the price of UTD! UTD is the most expensive out of all the UT’s!! Crazy!

My girlfriend has already received her undergrad in psych and is trying to decide where to go for her master’s (she did undergrad out of state). She asked which schools were the best for psych…I didn’t have a clue. I think it is because psychology is not dependent on school reputation…as long as your school is accredited and half-decent. The quality of the education probably varies greatly from school to school but apparently it does not matter as much as a law degree or an MBA etc.
