PT everyday?

A few questions.. Do mids have PT or PEP everyday? At what times during the day do they have it? Does being a Varsity athlete get you out of any workouts?

No. After plebe summer they do not have PT or PEP every day unless you fail your PRT (Physical Readiness Test) in which case you have remedial PEP until your scores are up to passing. Other than than, it's up the the individual to manage their physical fitness -- some do this better than others. Everyone participates in some form of extracurricular -- could be varsity sports, club sports, intermurals, or could be music performance "teams" like Drum and Bugle. The level of physical fitness achieved from these activities alone may be enough to maintain your personal standard of physical fitness or may not. Many mids try to fit time for personal training (e.g. running or weight lifting) into their day, but only a few true die hards are up before dawn to do so :)

Remedial PT sucks.

Ask me how I know! ;)

Hint: It's NOT because I was SUPERVISING it! :D

I'm thinking of trying for the Marine Corps. Is there an organized group of wannabe future Marines which PT together?

Well, when I was there, there was a MANDATORY program called "Bulldog" which anyone who wanted to be a Marine had to complete.

PT, forced marches, the whole nine yards.

Don't know if they still do that, though.

Either way, you'll find plenty of insane workoutaholics to exercise with!

Yes,

Semper Fidelis Society...however I do not think they meet and PT every morning, however they have scheduled events throught the year, some to MCB Quantico, paintball, humping, etc....

Their website: http://www.semperfi.marines.usna.edu/

Rah!

Wrong.

Semper Fidelis Society is, essentially, a club.

Bulldog was a program you had to successfully complete if you wanted to choose USMC on Service Selection Night.

VERY different.

Yes, Semper Fi is essentially a club (some wannabe Marines). However, if you are interested in Marine Corps, this is a good club to get into. As mentioned, there are the field trips, which helps to get a glimpse of USMC life. Additionally, it will look good if you were part of it and service selected Marines.

If you are looking to just PT, well then you got to find people, as mentioned.

Archie, what do you mean by "trying" for USMC?

Absolutely true, jadler.

Sorry if I came across a bit strong. Long day at work. :/
