Ok, I realize that we have to have the medical forms in to USNA by the end of the month. My question is, if I send a copy in now, then get shots that I need within a few weeks (after I send it the form, but well before I-Day) will USNA accept the vaccinations if I bring an updated copy of my records with me on I-Day?

I'm new at this (my plebe starts in July too), so others chime in. But as a physician, I always accept properly documented immunization records. They probably will on I-Day. It would be irresponsible (and expensive) to ignore them. But I would strongly advise you to get your shots ASAP (they want the records by the end of May). If your doctor can't get you in, call your local health department, an urgent care, or just another doctor who accepts your insurance. I BET if you call your doctor and leave a message that you have an appointment to a service academy and need some shots in a hurry, he or she will get you in. Play the military service card. You have earned it!

Due to late approval of medical waiver, dd's blue binder and other paperwork hasn't arrived yet. Several questions:

For late approvals, does the PTR paperwork arrive with the binder, or does dd have to send in her acceptance, then wait for more paper?

What happens regarding any paperwork deadlines, since we don't even have it yet?

From various threads, it looks like some people are accessing paperwork through the CIS. Did you have to turn in an acceptance before gaining access to that info? How long after sending in your acceptance did it take to gain access?

Thanks!

Yes.
Having said that, I would:
-bring a copy of your updated vaccination record with you in YOUR pocket (not left with your parents)
-HIGHLIGHT any updated vaccination information directly on the sheet.

As good as they are, do not count on the medical staff to reconcile what has "changed" on your list.... they will be processing over 1000 of you on I-Day.... so make it easy for them to review your needs.

They should arrive back to back. As they are sent out after you resond, send the acceptance card in as soon as you get it.

You can fax any last minute paperwork to the admissions dept if necessary (call them first). Have your soon-to-be-anointed-plebe bring a copy of it with them as well.
The candidate number is all you need to access CIS. It is my understanding additional information is posted there once your son/daughter accepts the appointment by returning the card... it takes a few days after that, but generally gets updated quickly.

There is still plenty of time to get this all done; even the rare candidates with an offer of appointment in the days just prior to I-Day somehow manage to get it done!

Keep the faith!
