Public Health major?

Hey guys!
I was recently admitted to L&S and had initially applied as a public health major. However, a lot of my friends up at Cal are telling me that the major was almost dissolved this year; applications are still open, but there is no telling what may happen in the future.

Because my major (and location, too, but of less importance) was basically the edge Cal had over UCLA at the moment, I was wondering if any current L&S/Public Health students can speak up about this issue.

Assuming I do not get into the other two colleges I’m waiting for, is it worth it to go to Cal over UCLA for a major that is in danger of disappearing in a year or two? There are other factors, of course, such as location (I’ve been in LA since I was 5 and basically grew up at UCLA) and the academic focus (although I do like to party), but UCLA has other qualities I like too (familiarity, close to home, good food, bigger dorms, many of my friends - about 15 to 20 of them - are matriculating there or around there). But they don’t have my major, and, once again, it’s not going to be a new experience for me; coming into this application process, I knew I had to get out of LA.

I’m just really torn lol. If anyone has any advice, please let me know!
