UCLA or Berkeley?!?!?!??!

Decisions have finally come out and I have never been more stressed out. I live in LA but love UCLA, but Cal has been my dream school for as long as I can remember. I would love insight from others about how to make the decision, and I’m sure some other recent admits on here are going through the same dilemma. Thanks!
(note- Both Cal and UCLA’s open houses are the same day D: )

Your intended major, and were you admitted to the appropriate division/major at each school?

Nothing too crazy, polysci or public health, both admitted to the college of letters and science under undeclared humanities/ social science @ucbalumnus

Sounds like you know what the right decision is

They are both great schools, and both in the same UC system so any major headaches around the state budget will probably affect both somewhat equally. If you’ve always loved Cal and are ready to try living somewhere other than the LA area, I’d go for it. Berkeley is a fun town to live in. I guess one major difference is semesters vs quarters… some people prefer the quarter system so you have a few more courses overall, but some people don’t care or prefer it the other way.

You can’t go wrong with either, so go where your heart is. Which apparently is Cal. Go Bears!

For public health, UCLA has an undergraduate minor. UCB has an undergraduate major, but it is a limited enrollment one. Both obviously have political science majors.

Go to Berkeley. Ucla is cool but Berkeley carries a better name with it. And if you grew up in LA why would you wanna stay there don’t you wanna travel? San Fran is AWESOME!! I grew up and live in LA also and I think San Fran would be epic :stuck_out_tongue:

Uh, they are already there, wherever they chose.
