Public Party Schools

Plain & Simple, are they're any UCs or CSUs with a decent enough party scene (the more the merrier) but that also has a great computer science department?

Probably Santa Cruz or Santa Barbara, although you pretty much can find a party just about anywhere you go to school. Cal Poly and San Jose State have strong CS departments as well, and I’m sure you could find good parties at both. SJSU is more of a commuter campus, but that won’t stop the serious partiers.

That said, if you do CS, chances are you won’t have time to party. :(

Not sure about the other places, but SJSU has a ton of clubs within a few blocks distance from campus - among many other things like the SJMOMA, Tech Museum, etc since it’s in the heart of downtown.

As Hesdjjim said you can go to Cal Poly SLO, SJSU, UCSC or UCSB to study CS since they all have very strong departments and excellent CS programs or you can go to any of those schools and party just about every night, however it is extremely unlikely to impossible to do both. You can decide to focus on studying and get a degree in CS, change your major to something more party friendly like Communications and party or go home after a year due to academic dismissal if you decide to party all the time while majoring in CS.

I don’t play on party every single night & neglecting my studies. I may have came of as someone who’s more interested in a school’s party scene than their academics but I’d just like to find a perfect balance between the two.
