Public Policy Majors Well Respected?

I've recently started researching the public policy major and I'm curious how it translates to Wall Street/investment banking. Is it a well respected major, like Economics? Or is it looked upon like sociology? Would majoring in Public Policy hold me back from doing investment banking later on (even if I had a high GPA and were at a target school)?

Public Policy major won’t hold you back as long as you clearly demonstrate your interest in finance through your activities/internships. Beyond that, GPA is the other important factor. It’s probably viewed as a easier major so you should make up for that perception by getting a higher GPA.

public policy majors are seen as having good analytical skills and excellent writing abilities, as well as being comfortable with crunching data.
