Public State School Difference

Do you guys think this is a bad decision?

Im from TN, and plan on enrolling at University of Pittsburgh for biomedical engineering. With a tuition expense of about 30k per academic year.... University of Tennessee would have been about 12k per year. I chose Pitt in hope of it being perceived as a better Biomedical Sciences school, resulting in higher job prospects, and more internships available. But they both are still public state schools, and Pitt is 30k a year.... Im having deep regrets now, because I feel as if the education is most likely going to be the same, and it probably is not that much more impressive to go to Pitt, or worth it. Is this true?

That’s sort of a judgement call, and Pitt is better than Tennessee in that area (in fact, quite substantially better). Maybe it will be worth it, maybe it won’t be. The thing I would regret is picking a state-related school with such a lousy football team. If you happen to visit State College, PA, while you’re in college at Pitt, you will regret throwing away the best 4 years of your life at such a stinkhole. But cost-wise, I wouldn’t dwell on it. If those were my options, I would have made the same choice.

but basketball on the other hand… :-)
