<p>Yeah I don’t see how getting research published could have anything but a positive effect on your chances. There isn’t some magical percent increase anyone can give you though because statistics like that don’t exist.</p>

<p>Which is actually quite possible, considering the sheer number of people at science fair who have projects that just HAPPEN to be in the exact same field that their parents work in, and project topics that just HAPPEN to be the exact same thing their parents were working on at that moment in time.</p>
