Puerto Rico spring break?

So I've got a group of 8 friends interested in going to Puerto Rico for our senior spring break at the beginning of March. Anyone have any guidance to offer us? We are thinking of renting a house on the beach together to save money. We know we can get affordable flights into both San Juan and Aguadilla. What area would you recommend that we stay in? Our first priority (after safety) is the beach, then nightlife, then sightseeing and excursions. I don't know if staying in Aguadilla would mean forsaking sightseeing in San Juan? Or could we still get there, without renting a car, to see the sights and go to the Bacardi distillery? We're having trouble finding any comparisons of different areas in Puerto Rico online, so any insight you can provide is immensely appreciated!
