Okay, so this isn't exactly what it looks like, but this is my assumption.

A while ago I heard that NYU pulled some students out of LSP and let them go directly into CAS. I was sure I wasn't one of these kids, but now I'm confused.

This morning I've been trying to register for courses and do all this other crap (I hate how NYU sends weekly mail offering you stuff that cost over $150 per item- fridge! linens! protection plan! textbooks, ugh). So while registering, I looked on the LSP PDF file that you find online. Since I want to pursue Pre-Health, I looked at the guidelines to register.

Well, I went back to NYU Home and logged on and went on Albert to register. I registered for chemistry (because I want to take it freshman year). Then I tried registering for the "LSP ONLY" Writing I class, but my screen gave me a MAJOR RESTRICTIONS sign and said I couldn't register for that course. I figured "what the hell" and moved on to the next open LSP-Only Writing I class, but I got that MAJOR RESTRICTIONS again. So I played around a little- when I registered for the NON-LSP Writing I class, I was enrolled. WTH?!

This struck me as REALLY ODD. I couldn't register for LSP-Only Writing I but I got in for the CAS Writing I? And there are no restrictions on my scheduling process. I registered for Chemistry and just 10 minutes ago for Korean. I didn't even lock in for Writing I, Social Foundations I, or Cultural Foundations I either . I'm not sure what's going on, but I called NYU's LSP office and I left a voice mail. I don't even know who my adviser is (it says I'm studying Liberal Studies when I click "Registration Status" but doesn't say who my designated adviser is).

I really hoped I was pulled out, haha, but I don't know. Can anyone help? Anyone have similar experiences?

Thanks.
