Hi everyone, first post here at the college confidential community. I am currently a sophomore at Purdue University studying Industrial and Computer technology scheduled to graduate in spring 08. At the conclusion of this last semester, I ended up with a cumulative GPA of 3.0, with a 3.4 for my major, and the plan is to maintain a 3.0 until graduation.

If I can keep above a 3.0, I would like to go to grad school. I understand that to get into any of the top schools a nice GPA and standardized test score is mandatory. My question to you is, do gpa and test scores guarantee admission, or are there other parts of the equation I should be equally concerned about?

Another point of interest is my job experience. I've been working part time doing computer/online advertising for a small llc the last two years - would the admission committee take that into account, or do they want post graduate experience instead part time?

Let me know what you think, thanks!
