Would going to a summer program at Purdue be prestigious enough or would it just be a "money maker" program? My family wouldn't be able to afford driving me all the way to New York or anywhere across the country to go to summer programs at Yale or Brown, even if I got in. Would a $100 program at Purdue be of any worth to colleges like U of M or Notre Dame? Or would it be a better use of my time volunteering in my town? Thanks!
Also, I don't mean this in a rude way or anything. I just want to make sure if my family is spending money, it's worth it :)

I live in West Lafayette, and although I haven’t personally been in any of their programs, (I have interned in Bindley Bioscience Center in Purdue University for the past years) nearly all of my friends did.
Definitely worth it.
(Of course, for the price.) You can definitely find better programs elsewhere, but do you really want to spend 10,000 to go to big brand summer camps? (Although I am a complete hypocrite and applying to some of them after all. But my father wants me to get an Ivy League experience, and the intern money I got is enough to pay a part of it.)
Their programs are really good though, and you definitely learn stuff from it.

^ That you! I’ll go ahead and apply :)
