Purdue University

Hahaha 39k is too over-priced. I’m a middle man’s son not bill gates son. Lol. I am spying for max. 20k, if not more than 25k.

<<<<
So…can you pay $30,000 plus a year in out of pocket costs? Your OP implied this was not possible.

So how can this school be a safety? It is not affordable.

Thought I would do this line by line so it is easier to read.

Your Net Price Estimate Estimated Cost of Attendance

Tuition & Fees $40,117

Room & Board $10,800

Books/Supplies $1,200

Miscellaneous $1,600

Travel $960

Total Estimated Cost of Attendance $54,677

Estimated Merit Scholarship: $16,000

Estimated Need-Based and Other Grants: $0

Total Scholarship and Grant Estimate: $16,000

Estimated Net Price: $38,677

Estimated Additional Funds Direct Loans: $5,500

Work Study: $2,450

Estimated Total Assistance: $7,950

Estimated Out of Pocket Cost: $30,727

You’re not eligible for the WORK STUDY or DIRECT LOANS…so $8k gone there.

AND…as an int’l, you have to ALSO add in Health Insurance…about $2500 per year.

AND…you need to ALSO add in int’l travel costs…About $3k per year.

So, the above info turns this whole thing on it’s head…you lose $8k in aid and have to add in $5500 in add’l expenses.

Right now, you have NO safeties.

You could try applying to:

Mississippi State (they’ll accept SATs taken spring of senior year)
LSU
Louisiana Tech
New Mexico Tech
U New Mexico

Thanks! I will surely look into those universities.

The NPC may be not accurate for international students, however, you are likely paying full cost anyway. That would be around the $48k you got for Purdue (if accepted).
