I've been lurking around these forums for awhile, but recently, as the deadline for most schools fast approaches, I had an interesting idea. I volunteer with a cross-border organization based in Mexico, and on their website they have a promotional/informational video which I helped to film the footage for. (This video was also used in a contest in Mexico City in which the organization won fifth place). I would like the admissions offices to see the site and know that I actually contributed, and that I'm not just embellishing. In the Common app writing section, there is a section for additional information that says "Please provide an answer below if you wish to provide details of circumstances or qualifications not reflected in the application." I was wondering if it would be appropriate to post a link of URL to the website in this section, and also maybe a link to a local news report done on the organization on youtube (it's in Spanish though).
Thanks!

Colleges don’t usually look at links. My friend made a website to show his works and put the URL in the additional info and the only school that checked it was MIT. However, I did the same thing and Harvard looked at it! You can put the link but there’s no guarantee that they will click on it.

Thanks for the reply!
I’m a bit unfamiliar with the way the common app works- you made it sound as if the text will actually have a hyperlink that they can simply click on, right? I guess what I’m getting at is this- will putting a link potentially hurt my application (either due to a perception that I can’t follow instructions or that I’m too forceful in listing my achievements)? You make it sound like it will not, and the only risk I have is them not looking at the link, which I’m fine with, as I mention all of this stuff elsewhere in the application. (The link just serves as “proof” and elaboration in case they were interested)
