putting undecided on app

Do colleges view this as a weakness? I want to do something related to medicine but my math and science grade are only in the high 80s with 2 A in those classes. Is it possible to take up another major such as history and then switch to the science part such as bio or chem? Thanks

All the colleges I've visted say it's perfectly fine to put "undecided" on your application, and that more than half the applying students do so. You only need to declare your major by the end of your sophmore year.

That's all the help I can give, sorry!

Most schools do not admit students based on their major, so it doesn't make a difference at all. Some schools will require you to select a college (Arts and Sciences vs Engineering), for admissions and administrative purposes but you can still be an undecided within that college. There are a handful that do admissions based on your major (I think the UC's operate this way)

Going in undeclared may actually help later on, because it will be easier to pick a major in college, rather than waiting a semester to change your major after you've already declared it
