@jxalexaz Sorry I’m not sure how competitive it would be for a transfer international student. I do know that they hold international students to a higher admission standard though.
@pitt2021 No scholars doesn’t go along with honors scheduling. The supposed “scholars scheduling advantage” is very insignificant.
@bigtenbound100, my son is an OOS applicant who recently received notification that he was awarded Morrill Prominence. Can you clarify for me that, other than room and board, this scholarship pays 100% for all tuition and fees? Other than the financial award, which I understand is very significant, are there any other advantages or benefits from having a Morrill scholarship? How easy was it for you to get you preferred housing assignment? My son just paid the acceptance fee today to qualify for a housing contract because until we received notification about Morrill yesterday we where uncertain if it was going to be economically feasible.
@fatherof2boys Well it’s not 100% of all fees it doesn’t cover the learning tech fee, the program fee, and I think it doesn’t cover the COTA fee.

that was for this year I expect there to be a 200-300 dollar difference for next year in the learning tech fee and program fee but it’s nothing compared to paying the full cost. Well being part of MSP allows you to be in ODI, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, you get access to free tutoring and being able to reserve private spaces which is really helpful during finals week when ever other place on campus is full. You also get access to previous courses materials which is free, but you have to ask. Those are the major perks that I am aware of there might be a couple smaller perks though. Housing works by first come first serve by who paid their acceptance fee first unless you are part of a learning community and scholars where you are forced to live in a certain dorm or if you are honors where you have the option to live in an honors dorm. Hopes this helps.
@dreamed Ok if I understand your question correctly they only care about the ap test score you received in order to give you credit. Yes a total of 8 AP classes should give you between 30-40 credit hours so you would be consider rank 2.
@bigtenbound100 - thanks !
Thanks @bigtenbound100 for the hyperlink to the fee chart and providing more info respective to Morrill.
Is there any way if someone has been offered an Honors Program but can request to change to Scholars before or after the acceptance of honors(or before or after the school starts after accepting the honors program)?
In short at what stages (if allowed) someone can change from Honors to Scholars?
If you’ve been accepted in BioMedical Science Major is it possible to change to BioMedical Engineering?
can you just give a brief overview on your experiences with the social life at osu?
Also a student at OSU i can help some of y’all out with questions especially for engineering majors.
@kau123 its amazing hahahah if you’re into partying it’ll be a hell of a time, bars are pretty nice except some of the cool ones are closing down, if you’re an outgoing person you’ll have a vibrant social life, it’s all about knowing people.
the vast majority of OSU is social and loves to go out … if you’re like that making friends will be easy. Tailgating at OSU is also an insane experience
@Pras2016 The biomedical sciences major is highly competitive and is only allowed like 20 freshmen a year. My friend is in it and the singular objective is setting you up with research, coursework, and activities that serve to boost your application to med school or some type of grad school like that. It really is a scholars group in and of itself…if you’re thinking about the health sciences scholars program, you’d be better off in honors with priority scheduling and honors courses rather than the scholars program. Generally honors is seen as “higher up” than scholars in terms of rigor and scheduling.
@Pras2016 You can change majors but I don’t believe you can go back
Thanks for providing helpful information.
From your post#32 I understand that we can not go back - from Bio-med engineering to Bio-med science, am I correct?.
My son got ‘A-’ in biology(H) last sem through college credit plus, I am wondering whether all the honors classes are tough?
I am also looking for suggestions/tips for Biomed Science interview.
Any info on the Psychology program would be most helpful.
- experience in scheduling of classes / class size / lab class sizes?
- Psych building distance from North or South campus dorms (which is closer)
- info on research opportunities for freshmen and sophomores?
thanks in advance
