Hey anyone out there know how exactly the board looks at your academics. I go to a small school (about 60 each grade) and my grades started to slip I mean I dropped below a 3.0 but i think i am stil in the top 20%. But what I want to know is if my SAT/ACT or ASVAB scores are really good how they look at that. And if I start applying in March for Attendance in 2009 will they look at my transcripts from my second semester and my Sr. year grades. Just wondering…ok just really stressing. Thanks.

you need a variety of ECs and you def need good grades. bring your grades up and join things that scream leadership. Small school shouldn't matter i dont think... my graduating class was of just 56.

to give you an idea i have 5 years varsity XC, 3 years var track, 4.4 gpa, president of two clubs, and representative of another club...

good luck

Good i have quite a few EC's and my grades are climbing back up. Thanks

Jester, the grades could give you trouble. Remember the admissions board will look at you as a whole (Grades, EC's, SAT/ACT scores, PFE scores). They also have a method of balancing your High School against others in the country. Some Candidates go to rigorous Academic Academies with no sports, others go to Large school 700+ grads, and in your case a small school (rural I assume) Montana is gods country. If offered you really will want to accept Prep-School. If you do not succeed this time spend a year at a CC, and work hard on the grades. Take hard core classes like Physics, Chemistry with wet lab work, and Trig or Calc. Good luck

Question:

How do you have five years of varsity cross-country?

haha...

(ok iam done)

i've got 5 yrs of varsity XC.. started varsity in 8th grade :)

That may be true, but the Academy only looks at years 9-12.

yeah yeah i know that
