Qestions about enrollment confirmation

Do I need to decline all schools that I have decided not to go? What happens if I do not reply, neither accept nor decline?

If I still cannot make the final decision where to go beofore May 2, and need more time to visit campuses and think, is it OK to accept more than one school?

What would be the consequence of accepting more than one school beside losing deposits?

Thanks!

1) If you don’t give a response, a school will assume that you will not be attending. It’s courteous to send them a reply declining if you will not be attending, although not necessary.

2) You shouldn’t send your deposit to multiple schools. There have been cases in the past where admissions offices of different schools have found students “double-dipping” and rescinded their admission offer.

3) You could have your offer of admission rescinded. I’d really advise against it, and there shouldn’t be a need to. Make your mind up by the deadline.

Do not double deposit. So many things like housing, registration, orientation paperwork will come on the heels of the deposit. If you must have more time call both schools and see if they will give you an extension to decide…frankly if you are dealing with two huge schools it would probably be best to make the decision and go with it. Try to think back on the reasons you applied to both schools. I’m not sure what you need more time to think about, but if you have specific questions post a thread and you will receive answers to your questions.

i too have to decide between IU , michigan-ann arbor and univ of south carolina for masters in sport management…any suggestions??

thank you

i paid penn states deposit in december and then michigans like in march. will i be fine? it was because i didnt think id get in mich and i know if you commit late to penn state you might lose your spot and get bad housing and etc.

Well definitely call Penn State right now and tell them that you’re not coming. It should be okay but you probably should have waited.
