Qualifying for Work Study?

Hey,

I'm a GT for this fall and I'm really confused about Cornell's FA policies. My parents are divorced, so I don't know how exactly they figure that stuff out. The thing is, my parents saved a bunch of $ for school since I was little, and I think they have to report this. Will this make me ineligible for FA and work-study? Someone I know at Cornell hinted I could get a work-study job in his office, but if I'm not eligible then I can't. If this matters, my mom makes around 54K a year (she's retired because she's old, I was a surprise) and my dad makes around the same.

the money they have saved up depends on how much it is...are we talking about 10k or 100k?

yours is a good question though...i never understood how FWS(federal work study) was granted...is FWS given before being given a govt grant? or after?
