Qualitative and Quantitative MBA

Which MBAs are considered to be more qualitative in nature, and which are considered to be quantitative (in terms of schools).

quant = economics and finance

I understand, but I’m looking for schools and their differences.

This shouldn’t be taken too seriously, but in the past on this board the schools that I’ve seen regarded as Quant schools were MIT, Stanford, Wharton, and Booth (not in that order).

Note that my source of information is members on this board, this is merely from memory, and there is a strong possibility I am a) missing someone or b) am remembering something wrong. Moral of the story, take it with a grain of salt lol.

Thanks Roneald. No, I realize that this is a subjective question. Thanks for some idea, though. I suppose on the flipside, what are some of the qualitative schools?

Of the schools I considered, I thought that Wharton, MIT, Columbia, UChicago were more quant-oriented while Stanford, Harvard, Kellogg, Tuck had more emphasis on softer skills (at least in comparison to the first four).

^^ I think he pretty much put it on point from where I was standing (just take the top schools and whatever I didn’t originally name would be qualitative). Might want to throw Stanford into that quant pile too.

My understanding is that Stanford is somewhere in the middle, I’d agree with the rest of the categorizations.

Can I get some more Opinions?

I would expect the schools with the more “quantitative like” MBA programs would be the ones with more Quant Professors. Some of their quant culture would probably rub off on to their colleagues. I would also look for the schools with financial economics and applied economics. programs. They use the same finance professors.

^ That article does not refer to MBA programs.

You are correct. It does not. I did not post it by mistake though.
