I know that the business school at indiana is amazing but are the other schools such as the arts and sciences equally renowned or would I be better off looking somewhere else?

Some other top schools are:
French--ranked #1 in the country by one highly regarded scholastic group
Music--Indiana has won more awards for its performing music students (voice performance) from New York's Metropolitan Opera than any other school
Journalism--Indiana's journalism program is ranked among the top 10 in the country
Sports Marketing--Indiana is one of the few schools to offer this major in the country
TV/Radio (telecommunications)--few schools not on the west or east coasts offer such a group of extended classes in this field
Mathematics--Indiana's program is ranked top 10 in this field also
Law--Indiana's law school is ranked among the top 25 nationwide

and I'm sure some of the other programs are highly-ranked also--but I'm not familiar with the ones besides those I mentioned.

According to Fiske's Guide to the Colleges, the other two strongest programs (besides those I've already mentioned) are Chemistry and Optometry.

thanks for your advice

Thought I'd bump this since it was mentioned in another recent IUB thread.

Ballet Dept in School of Music is in the top 5 and probably the most selective

Many of the language programs, Spanish for one, are fairly well ranked. School of Ed is not too bad. Many of the more obscure programs like folklore and Russian and Baltic history/language are also well thought of by people in those fields.

Yeah, I noticed according to the IU graduation summary that an undergraduate degree in education is the second most popular major on campus--just slightly behind business administration.

And it makes sense that if the school is strong in French (top school in the country), then some of the other language programs are likely to be strong as well.

Didn't know about the ballet program, though.
