Quarter Grades for Early Decision

For Early Decision, what does it mean if a college asks you for your quarter grades?

they want your senior year first quarter grades.

really someone who asks that question probably doesnt deserve to go to college.

^That response is a little harsh, it is an honest question that has been asked often.

When applying ED, the application is usually due before your first full semester or mid term grades are complete so the college will just ask initially for the first quarter grade. Your guidance counselor can help you with that.

I do know what quarter grades are, but some colleges don’t ask for them and I was wondering what it means in the college admissions process if they do. I hope that makes more sense.

That was a really cruel thing to say. why would you post at all if you’re going to say something that is unhelpful in every way?

your first post was very vague and it seemed as if you were wondering something similar to “my mom told me to wash the dishes. what does that mean?”

now i realize you are wondering what it means in the admission process (whether it is a good sign or bad sign).

it doesn’t mean anything. some colleges ask for it because they want to see how you are doing senior year. it does not mean you are likely going to get in/get rejected.

Ok thanks. I’m glad that made more sense!

If they are asking for quarter grades, you are still being considered for admission and your performance may make the difference between acceptance and rejection.
