Queens, McGill, UofT... Best humanities?

Those are the three Canadian schools I'm interested in, and I want to know which one of them has the best reputation and faculty in the humanities department. By humanities, I'm referring to stuff like Literature, History, Philosophy, Social sciences, etc.

bump bump bump

I've always heard that Queens has more of a liberal arts focus, but I don't really know anything about the specific programs of those schools. I'm sure someone else here can provide more information.

nbachris2788: I find myself in the same situation as you... having read your other other post about Queens/StFX versus some US colleges...

It's a tough call. It's a case of making an objective judgement while discounting the two competing biases which skew the debate:

The faddish hype about going to a US college...

and

The reactionaries with inferiority complexes---who, mostly because they cannot make it into an elite US college, rail against them and call them overrated... or just create excusses to justify why they are not going to one

Personally, I have progressed from wanting to be anywhere in the US to a more balanced approach... I'd be willing to talk about it more, if you want

Queens and StFX are two universities in Canada I'm considering... along with McGill and UBC...

Im considering the states as well but im leaning towards Queens right now. I wish I applied to StFx but in retrospect the school is too far etc.

Im between Queens Western and McGill right now, Boston University in the states. The only school I have visited is BU and I was quite impressed with everything except the stringent rules in the dorms and in their alchohol policy. Dorms were also substandard.

Yeah, Queens is looking very good for me too
