Queens vs Western?

They’re both equally amazing, but extremely different at the same time.

Western is a HUUGE party school (and has a lot larger student pop.), and London is a great university town. Western Ivey is different from other undergraduate business programs in Canada in that you don’t actually start studying at Ivey until after 2nd year - and that is if you have been able to keep your AEO status/GPA/etc. So for the first two years, you can study anything you want. As well, when you’re actually studying at Ivey, the tuition more than triples (if you’re a Canadian citizen). I also believe the prerequisites to get AEO status are much different from Queen’s prerequisites. I’ve also heard that Ivey is better for those who are much better at networking, presentations, etc. - just really good oral and presentation skills.

Queen’s on the other hand is very social, but not as wild as Western, and Kingston is also a great university town. Queen’s admits much less students than Western and requires more essays. Queen’s Commerce unlike Ivey is all four years. Commerce is slightly harder to get into than getting AEO status (correct me if I’m wrong!). Also, the program basically doesn’t allow you to take any electives until your third year. As well, I’ve heard that Commerce is better for those who excel at math - if you’re more interested in going into banking/finance, Commerce is THE program!
