If you become a Quest Scholar finalist how good does that look on your application? I heard that Stanford has accepted all past finalists that applied. Can anyone confirm that?

anyone...?

I don't know but i have the same question? also, is the college match program the same as early decision?

yes college match is like a binding ED program
but if you want to apply ED/SCEA to another school, you can and just not participate in the college match program

Bump!!!!!!

IMO, being a finalist for Quest Scholars and/or QuestBridge college Match would be a benefit at colleges that are aware of the program. As a finalist, you would have passed through some pretty rigorous screening, which would signal to the college that your application deserves a further look. As for Stanford, I have no idea what they do.

thanks ccgmom

bump for some more answers!

what is this Quest program?

questbridge.org

it is a program for low-income students, and the college match provides them with a chance to get full rides at their partner colleges.

I was origionally sent a letter about the college match progam i don't understand how I could apply to quest scholars and not include college match is it a seperate application?

quest scholar finalists get to participate in the college match program

(quest scholar deadline was sept 25th, though, in case you were wondering)

bump please
does any one know what the "quest scholar finalist" status is worth in top schools' apps?

only a junior...what is considered "low income"

Check out the website www.questbridge.org for all the details, but it looks like last year, finalists had income ranging from $0-$65K. If you are high-achieving and in this income range you should definitely check it out.

The College Match aspect of the program is essentially a binding deal, but only for the schools that the finalist includes in their ranking. The partner schools are some very highly selective and highly ranked players and 4 year full ride scholarships would be a phenomenal opportunity. If a finalist chooses not to play in the College Match game, your application will still be passed on to the partner schools where they will use the Questbridge app as a "common app". There are also other internship and scholarship opportunities for Quest Scholars. Seems like an excellent portal for high achieving low-income students, but I have little first-hand experience since D just applied. The application is COMPREHENSIVE but much of the content can be used on other apps. Think of it as a "head-start" on completing applications since the deadline is well before even early action/decision dates. Work on it over the summer because it's a bit traumatic (or should I say dramatic?) trying to do it right at the beginning of the school year.
