Questbridge Applicant Hopeful

Hey all,
Before I say anything, this is my first time posting here on the forum so if I ain’t doing anything right just tell me

I’m a high school senior in Canada (Saskatoon) and I heard about the Questbridge program in late August of this year. I looked into it and was very interested, seeing it as a great platform for me to be able to use, so I finished up the application and am just waiting for my counselor’s school report.

However, I’m still worrying about whether or not I’ll be able to be selected as a finalist or not. I’m just wondering if any of y’all could give me some advice or your experiences/predictions on whether or not I’ll succeed.

My family’s socioeconomic status isn’t as severe as most of the applicants (total 54k USD a year or so before tax) and my parents do own a house as well. But they both have serious physical disabilities that have acted as pretty big obstacles for my family. I’m also worried that my citizenship will play a factor (I’m only a Canadian citizen).

One last question: I’ve heard that there are certain universities that will consider you for a college match even if you do not live in the U.S. Is this true?

Here are my stats just in case the info will help:
SAT: 1500/1600
Subject Tests: 780 Math 1/2
GPA: 4:00 (unweighted)
Activities: Youth Action Club Vice President, School Band, Cross Country Varsity Captain, Competitive Swimmer w/ Saskatoon Goldfins

Honors/Awards: AMC 12 top 5%, AIME Qualifier, First place in the Sanofi BioGENEius Provincial Literature review competition, Cross Country 3 time city varsity finalist and provincial qualifier, Competitive Swimming Provincial Champion, Western Canadian Championships Qualifier, 3 time provincial relay team member, Prairie Championships 3 time medalist, School - wide High Honors

Bump

Also if this helps, my high school does not offer any AP or IB programs. I’ve also done about 30 hours of volunteer work with a physical activity program for disabled children and help coach with the swim team whenever I can. Btw the youth action club is a student led organization that works with festivals and organizations around Saskatoon to help promote and deliver volunteer opportunities to high school students at our school.

I’m confused- how do you qualify if you’re Canadian and live in Canada? But other than that, your stats and activities are great, so you’re a shoo-in.

I thought it was only that you couldn’t rank colleges for the college maych if you didn’t live in the states, but you could still apply to be a finalist and get the regular decision scholarship. Have i been mistaken all this time?

You have to either live in the US or be a US citizen who is residing outside the US. International students who are not currently living in the US are ineligible.

Well that is unfortunate. Well, thank you for telling me! Hopefully I’ll be successful in regular applications.
