Questbridge College Prep Scholars Application 2018

@tropicalstorm121 there’s no definite cut off for income; they just have an average for selected applicants. It’s a wholistic review, so if you clarified in your app that your family is big and other financial burdens, they’ll take that into consideration.

You’re around 11K over the income line for a family of eight. Doesn’t matter anyway because you sent in an application already.

Also, I’m very confused about something. The application for the stem quest excellence award and other awards were in the main application for the college prep scholars program right? Why do we have to sign up individually for them too? Do we have to at all?

Just submitted my application. Lol. Next time, I’ll try not to procrastinate.

Im pretty sure, its just we have to send in supplemental forms later on by the respective due dates to be considered for them. For the new americans one for example, i have till april 8th to do the supplemental stuff. Btw where did u find out the info on me being 11k over for a family of 8 ?

just submitted!! lolol procrastination at its finest

wait where do we go to finish the supplemental materials after we submitted the application??

You had to finish the supplements before you submitted the application.

@janiza No… you had to finish the short essays before you submit. Other supplements for the summer programs are due next week

I really hate myself right now. I submitted the application at 2:59 AM EST last night. I procrastinated even when they gave me an extension and this whole week was spring break for me. My biographical essay was okay, but my short answers were terrible and I couldn’t finish any of the award essays that I wanted to. I am probably not going to make this year but I am going to make sure that this doesn’t happen next year.

@Carl7182 Better to learn from your mistakes now rather than during QB Match/college applications! I procrastinated as well and while I did turn it on time, my application is very weak and I likely will not get in. Even if you don’t become a QB Prep Scholar, the essays were good practice.

And I’m pretty sure that the Prep app automatically becomes your Match app so you don’t have to refill it, so thats a good thing!

On the topic of not procrastinating. Do people know when Match apps open? I read on a thread that some worked on it in early summer but I think I also read somewhere it opens August 1.

@chillen Congratulations, that’s really amazing!!! If you do not mind me asking, when did you submit your application for Questbridge? I am just thinking maybe they are contacting people on a rolling admissions basis because everyone I know who has applied to a Questbridge Summer Program in the final days of the application process has not been contacted yet.

Hey, guys. I applied to this too and I just turned my stuff in last night. Do you all personally know of anyone who got to the college match part of the program? And how high do you think your SATs scores be to be considered for that part of the program (if I get there)? Like would a 1300 on the PSAT (1380 on the SAT) suffice maybe? Thanks!

Hey guys!! I applied to various summer programs and noticed before i submitted that some require you to submit extra short answers, etc. Where can I go to submit those? through my questbridge app?

There is average standardized test statistics online, but there are definately outliers. I find that those with good essays and hooks make it more often than those with perfect scores, so don’t have a test score discourage you. Plus, you can always take SAT again

You can access your extra summer program apps if you go to your application home page.

Y’all is Pioneer Academics emailing you back for when the next info session is if u signed up for the USA and New Americans Award??? I signed up for today but I haven’t gotten a email and it’s been 5 days oof

Is there anyone else who signed up for the March 30th one???
