This is the official thread for everybody applying to the Questbridge College Prep Scholarship this year! What's your choice schools and stats?

Can anyone apply for this? Cuz I got an email from it and I’m interested

yeah anyone can apply

Notre Dame is like my dream school!! I’m applying for the College Prep Scholarship as well!

When do the results come out?

If I’m a junior can I still apply in the fall?

Thirty-Thr33: I heard towards the end of April

elmano: for the NCM? You’d need to be a senior

*elnamo sorry

Last year it came out April 18th, I hope they notify us close to that date this year too

I thought it was 19 last year?

I heard towards the end of April so those days sound about right

I applied for it, has anyone heard back yet?

I don’t have a facebook page :)

If someone does not make the selection for the qb college prep pgm, does this mean that they also wd not be eligible for the Sept match pgm?

Obviously in any cut, there can be two reasons to be cut
- applicant does not possess the eligibility criteria
- applicant possesses the eligibility criteria, but cd not fit into the pgm due to limited slots and the final selection was a dice throw among many equal candidates

In (2) I can see that it wd be reasonable for a student to apply in Sept; but if the reason is (1) , wd it make sense to apply since , presumably, if you cd not get into the prep pgm (not poor enough, not academically or extra curricularly robust enough, eg), then you wd not get into the Sept Match pgm?

Implied question - if you do not make the prep pgm, do they tell you why? Do they publish who did make the prep pgm and then you cd see how close you were to the parameters the chosen people possessed?

I’m pretty sure you can still apply for the college match program even if you don’t get college prep. I heard that if you do get selected for college prep then your chances at getting in the college match program are heightened. I don’t think they have announced winners for the 2013 college prep yet. Even if you don’t make the college prep program, you can still apply for college match, just make your application better, I guess. Raise your GPA and take the SAT and AP tests (if applicable) I’m sure that would make someone a better candidate.

Anyone else nervous about the results…

yes! do you know of anyone that got an email? last year they went out the 19th…so we should be hearing soon

No I don’t but goodluck to you. I heard they should be coming out soon as well so we shall wait and see

What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking? I wasn’t going to apply but I ended up doing it last minute…
