Questbridge College Prep Scholarship 2015 Applicant Thread

@Sophmore1 Sorry, the application deadline was January 23 and they sent out acceptances at the beginning of March. : /

Wow this is so exciting, but stressful at the same time! I hope that all of us are selected as College Prep Scholars! And on a side note, don’t get too bogged down if the summer programs don’t work out; there a lot of opportunities for enrichment and service learning locally, and finding those opportunities just takes a good 30 minute googling session lol. What matters is how productive you are, and that could even include SAT studying. And at the end of the day, summer is suppose to be a time for mental recuperation, especially for juniors because of the upcoming college application season. Well, best of luck to all in you academic endeavors!

@mzr1998 thanks! Same to you!

I am just so nervous. I have legitimately been rejected by everything. In 7th grade, I was rejected to enter the science bowl (which any fool can get into), I was rejected by ROGATE in 8th grade, I was rejected by this math and science magnet school in 8th grade, I was rejected again by that magnet school in 10th grade, I was nominated for some award but did not win it, I lost every single essay contest I entered, I was rejected by Phillips Exeter Academy in 10th grade, I was rejected or chosen as an alternate for this Girls’ Career Institute thing a month ago, they chose a person that wasn’t even in a single AP or honors class. Tomorrow seems like another rejection to add to that list. And I just don’t want to go through it again. I’m afraid guys. I really am.

@PolyglotGal Chill . . .
This year, ever since I started applying to programs, I’ve been getting rejected; I applied to Youngarts–rejected. The Anthony Quinn Scholarship?–rejected. The Winter Tangerine Writing Workshop?–rejected. I starting to lose hope that I’d somehow lost my mojo; somehow I had gotten worse rather than better over the school year. But then–on April 1st, 2015, at 10:44 PM, I got accepted to the program I wanted most: the Iowa young writers’ studio. Chill; the bad things come first, so that when we get to the good, we’ll really appreciate them for what they are. Based off of what you said, I really wouldn’t be surprised if you get chosen by QuestBridge, and if not, there’s something bigger and better waiting for you .

Honestly it better be today. I’m tired of waiting.

Me too, @Swinter. I’m really not so concerned about whether I get accepted or rejected (I’ve been convincing myself that I’ll be rejected), but I just really want to know what the result is. I don’t know how I’m even going to survive through the wait for college applications.

So, is today the day?

Probably, @mzr1998.

It better be today. I just want to get it over with already

guys seriously don’t worry. questbridge is much easier to get into than competitive summer programs

@canunot do you think all the quest scholar summer programs have been filled?

What time can we expect to get the notification email?

I was hoping 2 pm central time. … guess not

If it is today I suppose anytime from now till 5pm

Last yr it was 4:22pm eastern time

@JojoScarlett wow that’s quite an arbitrary time

We can check the QB portal before the email is sent out

@Iamquiteloud is it supposed to be right on the front application management page?

Yeah my friend told me the time he got last yr
