QuestBridge National College Match 2012-2013

On that note, would that postpone the scheduled Match Notification day (Nov. 30)?

Hard to say, Wallysmith. Hurricanes like Sandy don’t happen every year! I’m sure you will get email notification if there is a delay. Make sure you also check your spam folder, because automated messages can often end up there.

Under the announcement section of the QB website it confirms that results will come out on the 30th, so it looks like Sandy didn’t have too many setbacks for admissions. Only ten more days left!

So I just got a call from an alumnus for an interview for next week. It caught me off guard considering results come out next Friday. Will this interview even be evaluated for the match process? It seems rather late to me.

10 days. I can’t handle it. hahaha

ive been counting down starting this past week!!! 10 days!!! so close but yet so far away…
today i got an email about being a Quest Scholar - did everyone recieve this generically or is this a “good sign”? :D

haha everyone on the QB Facebook page got it, so it’s generic. Most people got it at 6:42 though, and I got it more than an hour later. -_-

oh well. guess we’ll have to wait 9 more days. can u imagine guys? many of our applications have been decided on already!

I knoww D: It’s scary… I really hope I’m matched, but the chances are so slim. I even started RD apps already

yeah ive sent in RD apps for other colleges, but im still hoping! Oh my goodness. Its just so intense right now im sure all other QB finalists waiting for the 30th understand this feeling lol

Considering that admissions officers likely won’t be working over Thanksgiving, I think whiteout13 is right – many decisions have probably been made already.

I would guess that some applications are still without a judgement. Last year, finalists received their notifications pretty late in the day (around 5-6 p.m. ET), so they’ve gotta be pushing their time constraints!

I wouldn’t be surprised if SOME schools are making decisions still. Hurricane Sandy really screwed things up… I heard Princeton was impacted by the storm a looot, which is why they haven’t been that great about notifying alumni to set up interviews.

And yesss, so intense. :frowning: I already submitted apps to Vanderbilt, Harvard, and Wesleyan though. Haha.

@Lesleyclovesyou13: I e-mailed QuestBridge and asked if I could apply to QB partner schools while waiting for NCM results, and they said to wait until December 1 to apply. Assuming I’m not matched, I’m going to apply to Wesleyan, but even though my application is ready to be sent in, I’m going to wait, like the QB staff member said. Maybe you heard differently, though – the instructions on their site for RD / NCM policy are somewhat confusing.

My friend (also a QB finalist) was just asked today for an interview next Tuesday for Yale. Assuming his interviewer knows what the proper deadlines are for QB, I would say that that’s awfully close to the match notification date. A little too close for my comfort haha.

Don’t you want to forward your QuestBridge application to other QB schools? You can only forward it after the match notification on November 30th. I’d definitely wait if I were you––application fee waived, plus a ton of extra essays for admissions officers to read (I know that Princeton, with my Common App and supplement, must have 5 or 6 essays of mine :))

@DolphinBoy: That’s exactly what I said (“they said to wait until December 1 to apply”). :)

@suluclacdna Sorry, I misunderstood. For some reason I thought you wanted to apply outside of QuestBridge to partner schools.

@DolphinBoy: No worries – I presumed it must have been a minor misunderstanding.

Lol, oh woops. o.O I probably won’t be matched anyway. If I am, I’ll just pull them out. :3

One week, guys!

One Week! 7 Days! In a way i think i am better off here, in limbo, not knowing because chances are on november 30th, i will not be matched :frowning:
but chances also are that i could get matched, make my parents proud, live my dream, and have a great senior year, and a great, free education.
