<p>I'm applying to MIT through the questbridge application.</p>
<p>Through the questbridge application, I already submitted 2 recommendations, but if the ED questbridge college match fails to match me with a certain university, I'll probably have to send commonapp recommendations to those schools for Regular decision. Now, my teachers already sent their questbridge recommendations, and are on their way to send duplicate recommendations (evaluation forms A&B). Those forms would not be required if I get finalist, something I'm still waiting on. That means that if I get questbridge finalist, those "extra" common app recommendations are not useful because the colleges would use the questbridge recommendations anyway.</p>
<p>Will sending those extra duplicate recommendations before I get finalist hurt me?</p>

<p>I'm not totally familiar with the Questbridge process. Are you asking whether having two sets of recommendations (assuming you aren't matched with a school ED) will hurt you in the MIT admissions process, or whether it will hurt you to have QB recommendations that aren't on MIT's evaluation forms?</p>
<p>The answer to both is no (if you have duplicate recs, MIT will probably just discard one set, no problem), and you could easily have your teachers mark the questions on the MIT evaluation form and staple a copy of their QB letters.</p>

<p>However, will it hurt me if in the ED admission process for MIT (ED being through the questbridge application, a binding agreement application like a common app ED for several schools), if I sent 2 sets of recommendations? (one being the standard Evaluation forms A&B, the other being the internet based "questbridge" format recommendation)</p>
<p>Only the questbridge format recs are needed, but I also send the Form A&B in case I don't get accepted through questbridge, so that I can apply early decision.</p>

<p>If you are deferred to the regular admisison round, and if the Questbridge recommendations contain valuable information beyond what's on Forms A&B, MIT Admissions would likely not discard one set, since they are not simply duplicates and each contains useful information.</p>
