<p>Okay I'm confused a little bit with Questbridge and I have a few questions to clear things up:
1) The application is used to apply to ONLY the partner schools, right?
2) When you apply for QB and become a finalist, you apply to the partner schools as ED and not RD, right?
3) If you are not accepted by the schools but are still a finalist...what then? (is it even possible?)
4) If you are not a finalist, can you still apply to other schools ED?
5) If so, do you have to use other applications like Common App?
6) When you ask teachers for recommendations do you have to ask them to write a Questbridge recommendation AND a recommendation for other applications (like Common App) for schools that are NOT partner schools??? (NEED most help with this one cuz im not sure what to ask my teachers, i want to email them before school starts in Sep.)</p>
<p>Everyone seems to understand how to work out the whole QB process works but I'm confused about the recommendation process most of all D: And please don't be rude :]</p>
<p>1) Yes. Through the Match process (ED) you apply to 8 QB schools. Through the RD process, you can use the QB app as a supplement to your common app to apply to any school.
2) Yes. Not RD. But Yale, Stanford, Princeton, MIT are non-binding (EA, not ED)
3) I think if you do not match with any schools in the Match process, you, as a finalist, are free to forward your QB app to other schools or partner schools in the RD process (Most people get in to QB schools through the RD process than Match because schools are allowed to give a limited amount of Match scholarships)
4) Sure.
5) Yes. Here’s a helpful flowchart of the whole process: [National</a> College Match Flowchart](<a href=“QuestBridge”>QuestBridge)
6) Your school does start pretty late being in September. The app is due Sept. 30th so it’s a good thing you’ll be e-mailing them as soon/before as school starts. I’m pretty sure you have to have two teachers write a common app recommendation in addition to the QB recommendations. Also, QB requires a counselor recommendation as well.</p>
<p>Hope that answers everything! The Match can be a really confusing process.</p>
<p>1) Yes.
2) I don’t think so, but hopefully someone can verify this?
3) If you’re a finalist and are not matched to any partner schools, you can have QB forward them your application to consider you in their normal, RD process.
4) Yes.
5) If you’re not a finalist, some schools will take your QuestBridge app and others want CommonApp. All non-partner schools need your CommonApp.
6) Yes, mostly. There are some short questions on the QuestBridge recommendation form, but the rest of it is open-ended and they can just copy and paste their CommonApp letter. Partner schools have no problem with this. However, if you want to use two different teachers, that’s okay. </p>
<p>If I got any of these wrong, someone please correct me! :)</p>
<p>I was thinking of doing quest bridge myself. Its confusing though. The essays you write for QB are they used for when younapply to the actual school? I personally don’t like there essay topics.</p>
<p>Yea I’m pretty sure the application that you give to QB is the same that they send to the schools but if you have a Common App then you can give this kind of serial number that will let colleges refer to it if they need to or something like that :/</p>
<p>I have a question too.
For all of the QuestBridge colleges (except Rice) there is an expected “Student’s Summer Earning” contribution. Does that money come from summer programs at the university during the summer, or are matched finalists expected to find summer jobs (such as waitressing, etc.) over the summer?</p>
