Questbridge Right for Everyone?

Questbridge National College Match is a program for low-income students to have a more accessible route to college through a more open ED process.

My question regarding Questbridge - would it be a viable option for someone who meets the financial threshold, but has not undergone significant financial or cultural hardship in their life? Or would these students be put at a disadvantage when compared to the many immigrant & very poor students that are also in the NCM program?

Sure. It’s about economic opportunities and perhaps being a lower income family has denied you the opportunity for test prep, band camp and the rest. That’s part of the equation.

I don’t know whether hard luck and overcoming more than an economic hurdle means more in the process.

But if you time for the application proces, why not?

“A closed mouth never gets fed” is an old and apropos adage.

Good point! My family makes 70000, and QB recommends 60-65k households to apply, but it can’t hurt to try!

@brandork You are worrying about college admissions way too much for a rising junior… Apply for QB when it becomes relevant. In the meantime, focus your time and energy on high school things.
