I am a Questbridge finalist and now I have to send in my applications by next week, including CSS. However, I am also applying to several back up schools that are not Questbridge partner colleges. Can I submit the CSS to my partner colleges now and then send it to my non-questbridge schools in December,January? Will CSS allow me to submit CSS twice?

You put your information in once. then you pay for each school. the CSS profile fee is $25 for the first school and $16 for each additional school. IF you are eligible for a fee waiver through the college board (they will determine once you finish the application), the fees can be waived for up to 6 schools.

Will quest bridge provide you any assistance in offsetting these costs?

D submitted a CSS profile in the fall for a scholarship (not quest bridge) that she didn’t get. As I remember I submitted the Profile using estimated numbers for the year but didn’t submit it for the schools she applied RD. Then after January 1 I made corrections to the Profile using actual numbers and submitted the Profile to the other schools she applied to that required it.

Boy I hope that made sense. The Profile and all this is about as clear as mud.

Yes, you can submit the Profile more than once, people often do this for EA and then RD schools. After submitting you can make changes to the Profile numbers if you want (but keep a record of what you sent to which schools). Sometimes for fr applicants, you will need to send estimates even for RD schools if the deadlines are very early. If so, you will later need to make final corrections, so it’s good to keep track of all the revisions you made along the way.

Thanks everyone for the replies! And Deb- I’d say that mud is probably clearer than the Profile… And I’m the second kid to have to do it in my family… does it ever make sense!

Sybbie- The thought never even crossed my mind to see if Questbridge has a waiver… thank you!

OP, Questbridge got a grant this year and for the first time they were able to offer a limited number of CSS waivers to some finalists - usually for initial fee plus the number of schools you are ranking. However, you had to apply by an earlier date in October because they gave out the waivers with finalist notifications. They sent an email (or two) about this in the weeks before it was due. But if you qualify, college board will waive your fees and notify you when you finish filling out the CSS profile.
