Alright, so due to AP credits, I only have to take the second semester of the Reading and Comp. requirement. I was going to sign up for the second semester of Rhetoric R1 -- The Craft of Writing (Description: Intensive argumentative writing drawn from controversy stimulated through selected readings and class discussion. Satisfies the second half of the Reading and Composition requirement.) Do you think I would fall behind because I didn't take the first semester of the class or does it really matter? I'm a pretty good writer, I'm just worried that there might be certain material that was covered in the first semester that I might need to know in order to succeed in that class.

Check out http://rhetoric.berkeley.edu for a description of what the courses will actually be like. Shivvy over to 'Courses' on the top, and then 'Fall 1A/1B Undergraduate Courses'. There's a handy description of what each course entails and what course material they'll be using. It really helped me decide which Rhetoric 1A section I would be taking.
