Hello.
I don't know if this is the place to address my issue; if so, I'd appreciate it if someone forwarded me to a better one.

I am not from the US.
I hear that the tuition for all ivy league uni. is very high, but one can possibly get a scholarship of some sort that will lower the tuition fee in great amounts.

Can you please tell me, in general (I don't care for accurate data, just to know), how much is one year's tuition on ivy league uni., how much is it with an average scholarship, and how many people get it? if there's a difference, let's say Yale.
If there's a difference between subjects, let's say electrical engineering.

Thanks very much.

1) Tuition and fees (room, meal plan, etc.) are close to $50,000/year.

2) Yale doesn’t give ‘scholarships’, but there is need-based financial aid. You can get information here: [Financial Aid for International Students](http://www.yale.edu/admit/international/financial_aid/index.html)

3) There is no difference between subjects. When you are accepted to Yale as an undergraduate, you are accepted to the college as a whole, not a particular major.

thanks for the response.

I don’t get it - 50000 times 4 years is 200 thousand $. If I had that amount of money I wouldn’t need the degree…
I’m just comparing to my country, Israel, here the tuition is equivalent to $2,500 per year.
Of course, I am assuming the facilities are far inferior to yours, but I don’t think it’s 20 times inferior :)

So almost all the students on Yale pay that amount, and only few get financial aid, or is it common among students?
How much will such an “aid” help? how much will it reduce the fee to?

Please check out the site. The new financial aid initiative was the biggest motivator for me to apply to Yale, and eventually accept their offer of admissions. Today, all undergraduates received an e-mail from President Levin, detailing how the Yale endowment had gone down to 16 billion dollars amidst of the recession. Despite his announcement of of budget cuts, he emphasized Yale’s commitment to financial aid to its undergraduate and graduate schools.

In the 2008–2009 year, 50% of all Yale undergraduates received need-based aid from Yale.

In 2008–2009, 65% of all Yale undergraduates received financial assistance of some kind, be it from Yale or from outside sources, in the form of scholarships, grants, low-interest educational loans, or work-study programs.

* In 2008–2009, the average Yale Scholarship was $32,800. Keep in mind that this is only an average. Due to differing levels of family need, Yale Scholarships can range from the very minimum amount of aid offered to scholarships over $46,000.

It is one of the most generous offers in the history of higher education. Don’t take it lightly.

Thanks for the elaborate response!
