Can a 740 on the SAT II US History and an A in AP US History make up for a 3 on the AP US History Exam? (On the day I took the AP US History exam, I felt kind of ill and out of my element.)

I’d really appreciate some feedback.

i’m kind of in the same boat
770 on Math II
an A in apcalc

but a 3 on the actual test.

an option would be to not report your 3 because common app only allows 8slots for tests aside from ur ACT/SAT. but your colleges might wonder where it went considering u got an A in the calss and a good score on the subject test.

dont worry AP tests aren’t a deciding factor, colleges want to see the rigor of your schedule, they want to see your potential. People have good days and bad days, they understand they are not so blind. Do not send your ap scores of 3 because then the colleges believe you got a 1 or a 2, or didn’t even take the test. A 3 isn’t that bad in the eyes of top colleges, and you guys are covered with your sat ii’s (but a 5 on the ap test and a B in the class is better, cause of grade inflation)

Personally, I feel that success in a class is a better indicator for success in college. While I understand that some AP classes have REALLY low standards and would be considered regular level classes at other schools, my school has a very strong AP reputation (the AP classes are TRULY college level).

Grade inflation is the problem, people are in fact walking out with a 4.0 gpa taking many ap classes but can’t even get a 4 on the ap test. AP Scores are the only thing that shows a common test to evaluate everyone. (SAT II’s also help)
