Hey I have e-mailed this issue to the college website but I still haven't received any response yet. I AM REALLY URGENT!! sigh
Anyways, as for application process, I had to choose which major I was going to take (preferably under which college i.e. college of engineer, business, etc..) so I did as Management under College of Business. But the thing is I realized that the major that I have applied to was extremely competitive. So I was wondering if I could have an alternative major like other schools do (Syracuse, etc..) to increase my chance of acceptance by applying to a bit less competitve major like Econ under LAS.. or if not if I could apply again with different major.. Can anyone help me?

Oh, i was just looking over my online application and noticed this.. "Alternate Choice Option"??? What is that supposed to be? like the alternate option for college major? I don't remember having such option when I was writing my app!

Yeah, its me again.

Did you check the box on the application that you would be willing to go to General Studies as a second choice?

I don't think so :$ because I don't know much about Division of General Studies.. So maybe I could call the school and make the option available again? But can you explain what you do in General Studies? like if I could get a chance to major in Econ..?

General studies is really just a fancy name for "undecided." You can always switch out later.

u can try calling but, yea its winter break time and the people at the OAR leave for break too.

When you filled in choice of major on app, the very next thing should have been a box to check as to whether you would like to be considered for an alternative major if not admitted to chosen one. You would not have been given any choice as to the nature of that alternative, just been allowed to check the box or leave it blank. From what is in the system, it looks like you checked the box. It essentially means that if you are rejected for your major, they will then consider whether to admit you as undecided via the Division of General Studies, and, if in that, you can later attempt to transfer into any other major.
