How do I list my high school courses? Is there a certain way? Do i have to be specific with my APs or Honors or can I just list them as Math - 4, English - 4 etc?

The application also states: "Please provide a resume or statement describing your community, arts, leadership, athletic, and family involvement; work experience; and other extracurricular activities and hobbies in the order of interest to you. Describe these activities in a way that tells us what they are and more importantly, what they mean to you."

Although I want to submit my resume, I'm not sure how I can describe what they are, what they mean to me.

D included a section about AP classes and a section about Awards/Honors as separate sections on her "resume". She listed all her extracurriculars as an entry -- followed with a one sentence description of what it was and why it was important to her. This format allows for you to tailor it to focus on your strengths.

If I were in your shoes I would be more specific. If you list AP or honors classes admissions will know that you are taking a rigorous courseload rather than just meeting graduation requirements.

On the resume part, you can list out specifics...For example, Have a heading for AP/Honors coursework: AP Statistics - 5, AP Environmental Science - 4, etc. Anything you want to accentuate, put on the resume.

Are you taking more than ten courses this year? I interpret "List all high school courses and number of credits in progress" to mean courses that a student is currently taking (i.e. senior year courses). Earlier courses are listed on the transcript so they don't need to be repeated on the app IMO.

The resume provides an opportunity to highlight special accomplishments as astrophysicsmom points out. FWIW d didn't include anything on APs (they were on her transcript and she sent a score report too) but did include academic awards. For activities she wrote a brief paragraph explaining the each of the ones that was most important to her. I'm sure people submit many different sorts of resumes. As long as yours represents your personality I'm sure it will be fine. Good luck.

My S listed his resume, and then provided two or three short paragraphs highlighting his most important awards, EC's, community service, work etc.
