Question about arts supplement

<p>Ok so I just looked at Stanford's online arts supplement page in common app. It's more formal than I thought. </p>

<p>"Please upload a letter of recommendation from an arts instructor who is familiar
with your work. "</p>

<p>What if I don't have an arts instructor because I'm self-taught?</p>

<p>"Provide a web address where member institutions can view or listen to a 10-
minute sample of your work that demonstrates contrasting examples of expression
and technique."</p>

<p>Uhh, ok, if I'm submitting pictures, do I have to somehow composite that into a 10-minute video, or will any online portfolio work? Stanford's arts supplement guide page says 10 images for photography...</p>

<p>Most top schools will want some evidence to the quality of your art that is based on more then your own opinion before they spend their time and energy reviewing it.</p>

<p>You are not doing Stanford any favors by sending your supplement. If you don’t follow their directions, it will likely not get reviewed. (And the 10 minute segment obviously relates to film/dance/music supplements)</p>
