question about assist.org

hi i go to Pasadena City College and when i went on assist.org, i compared my school's uc transfer course list to the UC Davis GE Articulation Agreement list and noticed that English 1A and Biology 4(both from my college) were not in the same subject areas than the UC Davis list. English 1A of my college isn't listed as an Arts and Humanities class, and Biology 4 of my college isn't listed as a Social Science class on the UC Transfer Admissions Eligibility Course List. Should I follow UC Davis' list instead of the uc transfer course list for my school? Or the other way around?

Just follow IGETC.

[Pasadena City College - Transfer Center - IGETC Requirements](<a href=“Which PCC Courses will Transfer? - Transfer Center - Pasadena City College”>Which PCC Courses will Transfer? - Transfer Center - Pasadena City College)

Also, nice to see another PCC student on CC.

follow IGETC. your community college does certification

uc davis recommends b.s. degree seeking students to follow their own ge requirements.

Your first priority should be to follow the transfer eligibility list – it’s the same for all UC’s, and if you don’t follow IGETC then you need to satisfy those minimum transfer requirements. But, it might benefit you to cross reference between the transfer eligibility requirements and the Davis GE requirements and fulfill them both. Or, you might just want to follow IGETC.

HOWEVER, “Just follow IGETC” may not be the best advice, especially if you are an engineering major. You should go to [this page](<a href=“Welcome to ASSIST”>Welcome to ASSIST) and choose your major. After you click on your major, the second red bullet point will tell you whether or not IGETC is recommended.
